G13 manga is supposed to be gekiga, meaning it's mostly drama. Don't go expecting The Duke is anything like Guts or Beyond The Grave and that there's carnage all over the place. It's mostly espionage, political intrigue, and The Duke's character centering it. He's an international freelance assassin and this is how he does what he does.

The only G13 anime I've watched is The Professional motion picture, and that, while it doesn't completely stray away from the manga's territory, you might say it's more shounen. There's lots of action, simple plot, and it's got The Duke facing off against some really crazy comic book characters that just can't exist in his manga.

Both are pretty great. There's also an epic live-action film starring the legendary Sonny Chiba as the title character in Mission To Kowloon.

Oh, that's fucking awesome. I love the deepness of Golgo 13. A pity that A Drifting Life has only 2 volumes.
