There is one basic and simple rule to make your uploads stored as long as possible:

USE MANY DIFFERENT FILE HOSTS!

Your uploads are save as long as you store your files on different hosts using multiple accounts and different nicknames.

Be like the upload guerilla!

Be everywhere and use everything! I use 3 different file hosts a 2 accounts. Be smart and use Online Mass Upload Sites to create multiple mirrors with ONE upload! The time saved for reuploading compensates for all inconvenience (registring multiple accounts on different file hosts). Some file hosts supports account sharing and cloning. Use this feature to create identical accounts with the same files! That's all! Good luck uploaders!

Personal review:

Update: Online Mass Upload Sites:

1) http://www.rapidspread.com

It mirror files on

Uploaded.to | Mediafire | Megaupload | Filefront | Rapidshare | Zippyshare | Zshare | Sendspace | FileFactory | EasyShare | Depositfiles | Imageshack |

It'll probably replace shareonall.com

2) http://www.massmirror.com/

Supports:

fastuploading.com
fileinsanity.com
picshome.com
megaupload.com
zshare.net
badongo.com
rapidshare.com
4filehosting.com

Example: http://s1.massmirror.com/43bd444b12ea04f6907fb2d1d62414e3.html

3) http://www.gazup.com

RapidShare.com 200mb
 MegaUpload.com 400mb
 NetLoad.in 400mb
 zShare.net 400mb
 FileFactory.com 300mb
 Uploaded.to 250mb
 Uploading.com 100mb
 Easy-Share.com 100mb
 HideMyAss.com 200mb

One Click Uploaders:

New: http://binload.to/

binload.to supports uploads to 300 MB size and has almost no waiting time. The speed is excellent!

1) http://www.mediafire.com:

MF supports multiple uploads, has no waiting time and the files are stored for an unlimited time. But there has been a number of account bans and deletion and that's why I recommend everyone who use MF:

- To create multiple account clones by copying shared files to multiple mediafire accounts. If one account is deleted the files will stay avaiable as long as the other account is online.

- To not reveal your folder keys publicly otherwise your nickname will be revealed and your account can be deleted quite easily (happend in the past a lot).

- To link each file individually

2) Divshare.com BLOCKS ASIAN COUNTRIES!

DS supports folders, multiple uploads and has no waiting time. On the other hand the download speed is quite low (20-30 KB/s). It has a nice feature: mp3, pdf or txt can be read or played online.

I use it for smaller uploads or unlicensed scanlations.

3) Megaupload.com

There has been a lot of cases where files were deleted or accounts banned. But all in all it's still a reliable file host. As long as your files are under 100 MB you can use MU's creadit system to get a premium account. The speed is good, but the availability very bad. Many countries are unable to connect to MU or suffer from the HIGH WAITING TIME. Use this only for big files and small numbers!

4) zshare.com

Incredible slow download speed but the files last long. Since it's not so popular like other file hosts the risk of getting deleted files are quite low. If you have a lot of volumes and want your files to be stored without worrying whether it gets deleted or not, use this file host.

5) rapidshare.com/.de

Forget it! The high waiting time and IP restriction makes it almost impossible to download without premium account. The only strong point is the speed. Use this filehost for oneshots or specials.

6) Sendspace.com

My personal favourite of the most annoying file hosts. Don't be like those guys on mangahelpers.com and stay away from this file host. It's gross!

My great grandmother died D: Haven't been back until now.
Anyways, yeah. jcm, I finally agree with you. Well... sigh <_< There's no permanent solution unless you make yourself a personal server. Then there's bandwidth issues.
In the end, there's no real solution. We just will have to continue finding new places and just HOPE they survive long enough.
FileCows has been pretty good. Ignore the thing on Firefox 3 about it hosting malware, they deleted (most so far) the malware ads, should be fine now. 150MB size limit. Not sure about the file life, but I tried a file with the last file over 6 months ago, and those were still there. Remote uploading supported too :D Some of their servers are full, just pick a link with available next to it.
UploadPedia has 50MB filesize limit. They only delete password protected files, and nonprotected apparently stay on forever. However, good idea to make the filename weird so their public search doesn't find anything offensive. I see top files related to anime/manga though.

Sorry for your grandmother.

I tested mybloop, but got a pitiful 10 kbytes/s. So, no mybloop for me (I'm in France).
From my tests, I strongly recommend rapidspread, which uploads to 10 hosts (!).
BUT, you should provide the links too, since rapidspread might die as well as shareonall, which killed all of their links

Well it was on a steady 200kb/s for me. Was 300kb/s with FlashGet.
RapidSpread seems to have link issues. None of their blog, faq, or contact us work. But in case it's of any interest, they're almost exactly like Shareonall and massmirror.
Uploaded.to [250 MB max]

i have been using mediafire for most of my uploads since i started helping on MU. have just created a new account as i just learnt about cloning files from one account to another...

nothing has been deleted yet from my orig account though.... touch wood. and i do share the folder links...
also i reccomend rapidspread, although the upload speed is slow (for me anyway), it mirrors on 10 hosts i think. and there are no ads to go through like massmirror

Here is a site that lists all mirroring services:

http://forum.ru-board.com/topic.cgi?forum=11&topic=4276

My favourite is still superuploader, since the remote tool to upload is very nice, and I intend to update it
Also, they list the links of the files, so you just have to copy/paste them.
This is very important, see below.
Their major problem is that they have frequent database connections problem, and you encounter them once you have uploaded a file

ShareOnAll is dead, so I think we should be careful and post the direct links too.

For example, rapidspread doesn't provide the list of the links, so it's pretty useless once you have uploaded a file, you need to click on every link.

New rule on rapidshare:

a file uploaded by a non premium user cannot be downloaded more than 10 times.

And yes, I encountered such problems, so please avoid uploading to rapidshare if you are not a premium user !

Posted on: November 03, 2008, 11:39:04 am

Oups, not sure, but the problem happens when you create a shared folder.
I didn't encounter the problem with single files, so I'm not sure if it exists too...

O_o  That would be quite silly if they implemented that rule.  Kind of like shooting themselves in the foot, really...  Just like Livejournal.  Sure the paid members are where you make your money, but ultimately the paid members are there for the content.  Much of which is provided by free users.

From the page:

http://rapidshare.com/faq.html

How often can my files be downloaded?

* For Collector's and Premium Accounts there is no limitation. Files uploaded by free users can be downloaded 10 times, but can be easily transferred to a free Collector's or a Premium Account.

So from my understanding you need to "sign up" for a free collector's accont. ._.
That's not really a problem since the main uploaders already have an account... but mehhh ._.

No, for example NfKira did a lot of uploads on rapidshare, without any account.
BTW, I don't know what happens to uploads from rapidspread or superuploader, since they are probably not using any account...

They probably do since the only way they can track the downloads is if they're using an account.

Not really, they already store the IP and date of upload.
I guess it's because they lost a lawsuit, and need to have a quick way to delete all uploads from certain uploaders.

If you download files on filefactory, I strongly recommend:

It is much better than USD and also works fine even with the filefactory restrictions (when files cannot be downloaded for a few hours).

I've tested a new multi uploader

http://www.rapidspread.com

It mirror files on

Uploaded.to | Mediafire | Megaupload | Filefront | Rapidshare | Zippyshare | Zshare | Sendspace | FileFactory | EasyShare | Depositfiles | Imageshack |

It'll probably replace shareonall.com

Seems pretty good, although I don't know the file deletion time. There are private and public files, albums for sharing, previews...

Oh and there's also this Friends feature. You can subscribe to a person's uploads with it, etc etc.

It's been very nice about my downloading multiple ISO archives from Abandonia XDDD

OMG I was on MediaFire the entire time but didn't see that. It looks very badass.
Only thing I don't like is that the bulk download is for MediaPro <_<
RSS too :DDDD I'm sold.

Edit: Oh hey look 200MB per member too. Doesn't say anything about expiration dates, hope there still isn't any :D

Yes, that's what it says here. 200MB :3 And I see that MediaPro members can't upload up to 10GB anymore lol. Evil headers?

It still doesn't say anything about expiration dates.... other than having to log once a month or downloading the file every 60 days.
