Share is the name for a closed-source P2P application being developed in Japan by an anonymous author. Since the author of Winny was arrested, Share was developed as its successor, also focusing on higher security. Share functions in much the same manner as Winny, using encrypted caches, filenames and IP addresses, and is based on the same node organized architecture as Winny.

1) Download ShareEX2 here

2) Settings

- Go to general settings
- Profile: create a nick + password
- Network: upload = 50 kb/s (min.) , disable "disconnect slow downloads" , leave the rest as it is
- Folders: leave the settings and set up the download, upload & cache folder

3) Clusters

Clusters determine whether your search will be sucessful or not. I've made a list of clusters which I usually use.

Manga Magazines
ヤングアニマル Young Animal (Berserk)
ウルトラ ジャンプ Ultra Jump (Tenjou Tenge, Biomega)
週刊ヤングジャンプ Young Jump (GantZ)
週刊少年ジャンプ Shonen Jump (Bleach, Blue Dragon, D.Gray-man, Eyeshield 21, HxH, Naruto, One Piece, PoT)
アフタヌーン Afternoon (Eden, Mushishi)

You can find a list of japanese magazines and publishers here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_manga_magazines

More search clusters can be found in the spoiler (register to see):

4) Nodes
Share nodes can be found on:

http://node.nextp2p.info/
http://www.peerto.com/node/
http://www.peerto.com/nt/
http://www.stereoz.net/node/
http://ewp.main.jp/share/
http://moejump.s6.x-beat.com/node.php

You can also use the noderefresh plug-in (french).

Go to "Nodes" , "Add Nodes" , paste the nodes and click on "Add"

That's it! Share should update the nodes and automatically find new ones.
So once you've started it, there should be no need to check for new nodes.
You can use the search words mentioned above.

Desert Punk 砂ぼうず
Hotman ホットマン
Jyouoo じょうおう
Yaoh  夜王
Shigurui シグルイ
Azamaru  源平天照絵巻痣丸
Bushidou  武死道
Hinata no Ookami - Shinsengumi kidan  ひなたの狼
World Embryo  ワールドエンブリオ
Worldend Fairytale ワールドエンド・フェアリーテイル
Shin Angyo Onshi 新暗行御史

For some reasons, I get disconnected almost every 5 mins. From this screenshot can anyone tell me if im connected to share?

The nodes probably disconnects you due to high pings or low upload speed. It's a bit difficult for beginnrs to set the correct clusters and to find good nodes. That's all I can say: Play with it!

You add clusters in options. Your results will shown according how good your clusters fits the search entry. The cache folder is a temp folder where uncomplete downloads are saved. Share automatically shares the data in this folder.

Whats this I hear about uploading in order to download?

Ive downloaded tons of things without uploading a single thing

By the way, to get good search results, I reccomend the plugins NodeRefresh, NodeKun, ClusterChanger, and ClusterWordFinder....

I use these plugins and get perfect results every time ^^

Have you checked the nodes? Has a node ever reached "share" status? If Share searches for nodes, but never managed to reach "share" status then try downloading more popular files like bleach or naruto. They are are easier to find and to download. It's also possible that the node server disconnect because the ping is too high. In this case you can't use share.

Thanks for the information, it has been very help.
I'm started to install Share, I setup the pw and nickname but I'm stuck on the nodes part.  I tried to add the nodes, but nothing happened after I clicked Add.  Am I suppose to insert the nodes in the IP address area or the white space below?  I tried to IP address but it asked for a PORT which I don't know and it doesn't seem to be accepting anything. In any case, I tried both and it didn't seem to have change anything.

Another thing that I am stuck on is that when I looked at the log screen, it said there is an error in the cache manage.  I did create a download, upload and cache folders, so was there something more that needs to be done?

I hope someone can understand what I am asking.  Much appreciate if someone can help, thanks!

So what exactly is a node and how do they work? I clicked on the node links but most of them lead to 404 pages and others to almost blank pages that do not list any info about IP addresses or port numbers. So my question is where do you get the IP addresses and port numbers for the nodes? If someone could maybe post a screenshot of the node menu and how to fill in the info it will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: Well I sorta figured out the nodes, but not when i do a search, the only status i ever see is "Remote". Also, all the files in my upload folder say "unchecked". Does that mean it doesn't count towards the minimum upload requirements?

I've got a problem with Share EX2.
It keeps giving me an "Disconnected due to port error".
But i've checked the port at canyouseeme.org , and many other places to check if the port is open. Everything is allright.
It started two days ago. Share was working fine before it.
What can i do ? I have no more ideas. If anyone can help me a bit, i'll be glad.

Thanks a lot

Maybe it's a firewall or router issue. Have you tried to open both UDP and TCP ports?

I'm not behing any router.
I have a cable connection, but i can't access my modem (ISP do not allow it)
Its an Webstar DPC2100
Everything works fine with Winny, fine with torrent or any other P2P. Only share is giving me trouble.
It can happen each 5 minutes, or each one hour. Its strange.
I'm using Share EX2, with NodeRefresh, NodeKun . My upload folder isn't full, but i have many things on cache to upload (around 30GB).
If there's any suggestion i'll try it. Thanks
p.s: I'm thinking about try Share UDP version. If i just start share.exe of udp version, instead of TCP it works with no problems (i mean, cache & all that stuff)
Thanks a lot

See screenshot one and then two and three. I can't connect at all. I've already configured my network settings

Share EX2 requires your computer to be accessible from the internet at least on one network port (you entered 6667). please make sure you have configured your firewall / router to port forward this port to your computer.

You can also retry connecting and see the "Log" tab and post any errors encountered.

Thanks for the guide, been awhile since I've used Share. Quick question though: I got my nodes from http://p2p-db.net/
(the link you gave for the perfect dark nodes) and added the Share TCP/UDP nodes. Can I also add the Winny nodes for better results?

is it possible to add more than one name/word in a cluster string?

intead of having just 5 clusters i can have like 40 if i just make a long line but under the character limit.  will it still work like that or does it only search for the first work/name i put in the cluster string?

for instance lets say i have BoA has a cluster

but instead of just boa

i type "BoA EAC HDTV DVDISO"
and check the box for that after adding it.  will that work or does it only work for teh first word which would be BoA?

Ive been using share for quite a while but was always curious about this.

thanks

silverado, I really appreciate this thread. With your tutorial's help I was finally able to make share work!

I've had troubles with nodes in the past, but I was able to make them work with this exact simple method:

- Clicked the Nodes tab in the main application (on the left) and then clicked the Add Node button.
- Went to http://p2p-db.net/share/ and right-clicked on the link to share_ex.txt and selected "Save Link As...". Saved that file to my hard drive.
- Clicked "Load from file" and selected the file I had just saved.
- Clicked Add.
- Clicked Close.

As soon as I did that, I noticed a bunch of bouncing lines of information in the status box which composes the lower half of the application, because share attempted to connect to the nodes immediately after I clicked Close. And did connect, and stayed connected. My previous failed attempts probably failed because I either a) used different node lists which were probably either for a different service (like Winny) or just not functional, or b) didn't have my connections set up properly (this time I told share to use port 1234, opened up port 1234 on my firewall, and told ZoneAlarm to give Share.exe free reign).

Question: I've seen people with cluster names in quotes, like "ONE PIECE"... Does quoting matter? (Does capitalization matter?)

Quoting will narrow the cluster to the exact search term and it's possible that caps matters, although I doubt it..

Hello all, I just got Perfect Dark 0.992 a while ago, and I've set everything up with the nodes - but still can't download anything. I get only 1 Kb for send, and 2 KB for receive, with no hits when I type in a keyword (I tried "anime" and "game" so I should be getting lots of hits ^_^)

The error message I get is "Perfect Dark is online, open port NOT confirmed." What do I do about this? I didn't enter an IP when first setting up Perfect Dark (wanted to remain anonymous) - is that the problem? Or is it referring to a port forwarding error?

Please help! Thanks in advance! ^_^

Done everything in the tutorial but again what's the minimum speed required to connect to the nodes?
Under the Nodes tab, the Type column only have "Test" and "Check" only... Doesn't have any "Share" for me...

And i found some info at sharedb site
6. (?????) [??????]????.zip
???????Wf2uQVqUHT   (??ID????? - ??ID????????????)
229,804,987 bytes
14d9f99abc90f9f9dd54c947f007b4a7357ab873
If i put this info into the Trigger, will it starts DL itself when the ShareEx2 got connected? Or still have to search it in the Queries to Dl it?

I've got a problem.

I've added upload folders a while ago but Share doesn't count size and files number in them. Status column says "unchecked".

need help, please.
