This is a trial thread, I notice that threads do go of into other conversations before returning to the on topic point. So, If you notice that a thread is going completely off-topic try to post in here. I realise that it is a bother to go to Chit chat then get ripped apart by the regulars there for making redundant posts, so that is another reason I have made this.

Umm, Moyashimon was one of the big surprises of last year for me - A good anime to add to your hard drive, if you haven't already - As an indicator of how good it is, the series runs on 11 episodes - in other words, when they ran out of things to say, they stopped, rather than try to blow things out of proportion...
Ahum, to the manga... The anime was "incomplete" and i liked it enough to want to know more, so i looked it up, but that was a while ago - I think there was two or three groups that were looking to scanlate it, but most of them stopped dead in their tracks when it was licensed... however, unless i'm mistaken, the company that licensed it still hasn't actually released anything, and given how the US Market presently is, i doubt they will any time soon.
 
Man, the recession is even affecting us manga readers... damn, that's harsh.

It's exceptional on so many levels, it's kind of hard to think of where to start praising it...

Gonna check all my other projects and then look for Offtopia projects. It's not a problem to do 5-6 projects when we can gather enough editors and new members...
I think of GWR as the evil and Offtopia as the good twin of scanlation projects. So, the weird, ecchi stuff for GWR and the high-class seinen series for Offtopia...

I watched Moyashimon last year -- good stuff. Hopefully they'll do a follow-up soon, since there's more than enough content now.

As for the manga, I don't expect to see it on store shelves anytime soon. Del Rey has a slow -- and often erratic -- release schedule. It's a shame, too. They get some of the best stuff -- Parasyte, Mushishi, Me and the Devil Blues, etc.

I only check on Gantz ST in the evenings, which is once every 24 hours or so, so i can't really tell what's happening there until then... of course, it's not remarkably hard to just open two pages, but keeping tabs on two forums at once, and studying kanji at the same time is a bit too much...

Yup, it's really happening. And the best part is... *brace yourself* Leonardo DiCaprio's film studio is handling production. If anything, at least it'll be a decent comedy "worth taking the kids to" (someone will say this in their review of the film, mark my words).

^That commercial was a joke... But Akira is being made into a live action film along with Monster by American studio companies. I just hope they could do them a little justice. I think the director of the Watchmen should just direct everything comic/cultclassic and we'd be fine.

Anyway, among other news, I was checking out Jcafe member activity - I was surprised to find only ~50-100ish very active members, and some 500 "on and off" posters... but then again, J-Cafe hasn't been back very long... btw, mort just how active was it before?

With regards to comic/cult The Dark Knight turned out fine as well... When i heard the villain would be the Joker, i instantly thought "fail"... but as things turn out, it's the only batman movie/animated series i've seen that didn't make of a joke of batman's archenemy (cheap pun intended  )

Which reminds me, a batman that i hated because of how cheap it makes batman's most refined villains look, but with my favorite batman OST...

Then Cali decided to join in, about the same time Mort signed in. It took forever for a new Off-topian to join in. Setting aside the absence of Cali  Sadly, it's also about the same time the banning started, and from there onwards, it's been downhill... but I digress. I always thought Mort or Cali should have been mod of the gantz sub... well i could too, but i'd ban people for writing incomprehensible english, which is one out of every 4-5 posters in ST...

Yah, I was pretty sure you knew it was a joke. I think itll be shit as well. They should just redub or just sub it and put it into theaters again because it is still an amazing movie that not enough people have seen.

Speaking of which, I know this little kid (dunno how old he is; he's my friend's little brother) who saw it for first time last week, but not intentionally. His grandparents brought over a film to watch (that they had gotten from a local rental place), but when they opened the box to get it out, they were shocked to find that it had been replaced with another film (Akira).
Not knowing what it was (as it was an unmarked disk), they popped it in and let it play. At first his grandparents thought it was a "kid's film" since it was animated, but within minutes of the film starting, their attitudes dramatically changed. But they let the film keep on playing (as he seemed to be enjoying it), until the scene where the Clowns ripped off Kaori’s shirt, revealing her breasts. At that point, they said “no more,” and stopped the film.

You use the quick reply box for multiquoting. At least I do, but you have to make some distance between quotes. It's only a question of practice...
You can also use the "Insert Quote" button... I wonder if the "Youtube" button is still working, I didn't use it anymore since autolinks work here...
