  personally torrents it slow for me... i downloaded school days ep. 1 via "bits on wheels" (the only torrent client i can use  ) and it gave me near dial-up speeds

might have been a dead torrent make sure there always good seeders.
I never download anything unless it has 50-100sedders + and i always get speeds 300KBps+

I get average about 525kB/s from my Internet Service Provider.

The things with torrents is you want as many seeds and peers possible, this will give you the fastest speed. If you live in Canada and use Rogers internet, they kinda ffff you over because they block certain ports that free torrent websites use. I don't use Rogers for this reason, even though their internet service is faster than mine.

300KBps is slow but he says he get dial up speed so im trying to tell him that with just 50-100 seeds theres a big deference

tried downloading a file cut up into 16 parts of Rapidshare 2 weeks ago, it was hell

but torrent are fine for me, use Bitcomet and capped my speed to 200 Kb/s Max on Dl and 20 Kb/s Max on Upl

I get speeds around 5 kB/s usual and 20 kB/s when good. But for uber-popular torrents like Bleach new episodes it can go up to 100-200 kB/s 
But I do believe that if I could somehow break some limits then it could go faster (as this is far from my actual internet speed).

What kind of Internet you have? make sure you cable company is not trying to rip you off speed.

Well I SHOULD have one of the best internets around here (as far as I know) but I guess I'm just no good with torrents. I don't use bitcomet too (as I don't know how to hack it). It just fucking doesn't work -_-

I just use utorrent and it works fine. as for "hacking" im not sure what you mean. but if you talking about the removing tracker thing im quite sure u can do that with any ol' client.

anyway, seems our internet here was also upgraded, but I don't get any of those new speeds, since I'm using a wireless connection, and mine has already reached the limit of speeds... not that I'm complaining, am fine with the speed that I have now ^^

I have tried bitcomet a few times. Last time I went straight for the step 1 in our guide. Step 1 was to wait until the torrents get 100% health. I tried to make sure of that by getting a file to download and to make it at least 0.01% but NOOOOO....it was far from it. Bitcomet didn't even fucking connect any downloads

Dunno. I hope it can drill a hole there itself. So far I've always personally killed firewall anyway (all windows basic shit sucks. Especially Win. Update).

You do know you have to allow it internet permission on your firewall, antivirus software, and open router ports.
If you dont do that you will get the most shitty speed if any speed.

Ungh. Guys, I was the first to invent how to locate the right spot of where to add ports on my router without any help from others. Lmfao, okay I made it a bit too spicy just now, but anyway I spent ALOT of time working on this shit and I do know how to add ports (but I don't know how to find them). So I have some torrent ports allowed (at least ports for BitLord) but I don't know about BitComet. I need to kill firewall too (lately I made it work but at really low power)?

only thing I had to do to make Bitcomet work was to allow the standard windows firewall to let Bitcomet through...

I guess I should zero the last of my firewall again and let bitcomet run freely. But not now, I don't have any HD room for torrents. First I need alot of encoding done, then DVD-writing and so on. About 2 days or work or more.

you guys should get yourself a laptop that you can use for the internet and anime watching with around 10 to 20 Gb HD, then your problems are solved

For anime and manga, there is nothing better than irc to catch them at top speed (... well if you use irc for other purpose than catching a http link ... it's remind me someone  ), with the bots there, i reach the limits of my connection (around 1.15MBps) 

For games, it seems that some news server are very good, by you need to pay for it (if it's not inclued in your internet' subscription). i'm not using this but a friend told me he can have a decent download speed for games, music, movies and anime (around 400-300 KBps) 

... For porn, torrent is still pretty usefull if you subscribe for a site like puretna (it's free). Since you must have a good upload rate to keep your account, you can even download old torrent at good speed 


An other options for anime and manga was the site lolipower.org, there was some good choice of anime and manga, updated daily and good speed most of the time ... unfortunatly, can't acces the site since 2 days and don't know what's going on (lost the link for their forum  )

I know in alot of places there tying to push away dail up.
So cable will cost much less then actual dial up.
You can pay $25.50 for dial up and pay 20-30$ for cable.
Im quite sure other places should have the plans in with you get cable/phone/internet for a reasonable price.
but alot of ppl cant afford these reasonable prices so there stuck with what they have =/
I only resently got my high speed like maybe over a year ago.
All i know i hope to never go back.
You should check to see what plans they have out there for you and see what would be the benfits of switching.
I probly end up paying like 10$ more but its worth it.
I have my DVR More channles high def and high speed.
Oh and i can talk as long and where ever i want to whom ever on the house phone, but know one uses it.
