Sudden attack !
Here's a little gem that connoisseurs will appreciate to its full extent : Spinoza
by Koike Keiichi.
As you may (or may not) know, this series is almost impossible to find in book format, and when we stumble on used copies, their prices are prohibitive, to say the least. But, with a little digging (thanks to the Wikipedia page dedicated to Koike Keiichi), it appeared that this work has also been published in a magazine. A photo magazine to be precise. Photo Japon
to be even more precise.
And the magazines are cheaper than the books. So, with the help of a friend, I was able to buy some copies of the issues it's been printed in, and voilà !
Spinoza has been printed in 7 issues of Photo Japon
, from december 1985 to june 1986.
Each issue contains a whole chapter, printed on one page. The format is that of a contact sheet, with the pages shrinked to fit on a single page.
7 contact sheets, 62 pages per sheet, plus 7 chapter pages.— How come the archive is so massive if it's only 7 pages !?
Well, it's unlikely we'll ever see scans of the books. So, considering the rarity of this work and the size of the pictures, I decided to scan them at 1200dpi, and reduced them to 600dpi for the release. And I also included the scans of the magazines' covers, for completeness sake.
