Omega 7 (Volume 2-5?)

By: Motofumi Kobayashi

Renomée Points: 29

Reference:

http://postimg.org/image/ifaivw6y7/full/ (Japanese covers)

Comments:

This is most likely the continuation of the original Omega 7 manga released in the 90s. I have the first volume in a digital format. Likewise, Kobayashi-sensei's manga are hard to get in Japan unless you go to stores that carry them like Shosen Books in Akiba or Japanese sites that carry them like Amazon Japan.

Though if anyone has a chance to check the reprinted first volume and show some images (or have a digital copy), let me know.

Renomée Points: 22

The needed volume

Comments:

The first reprint of volume 1 include a prototype chapter called "Lost File", which is a one shot Tsutomu Takahashi did before he created the actual Jiraishin series. This review does indicate that the chapter existed in the late 1980s and was not published again before the first reprint started in 2003.

Comments:

The only thing that I can probably acquire is the Japanese version since Kodansha reissued it in small reprints and they have published it to be downloaded by Iphone app. The links are dead long ago and I don't know if I can get my hands on it since I'm planning to put up a scanlation group in the near future. I'm cut off from my portable HD as it is in Canada and I don't remember if I even have it in Mandarin Chinese or Japanese.

And he's extremely good with all vehicles like jet skis, trucks, fighter planes and helicopters. If you can name the vehicle, he knows how to work it. Ikaruga works as a vehicle expert for a multinational specialist organization called the Almighty Support Enterprises (ASE) while trying to maintain his high school life as much as possible.

In the year 20XX, various Asian refugees arrive in Japan en masse to escape from their own countries over economic and political problems. To settle the refugee problem, an artificial and autonomous place called the "CITY" is created via land reclamation with its law enforcement handled autonomously.

To deal with criminal and terrorist activities caused by foreign residents and groups in mainland Japan, the National Police Agency created an elite anti-terrorist unit called the ACAT (Alien Organized Crime Control Department Special Investigation and Attack Team). Leading the unit is 40-year-old Mio Fuji.

Note: This somewhat reminds me of the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex due to the refugee problem, except that it's very dark with much death.

Kaoru Inoue had suffered a tragedy when his parents were killed by a knife-wielding man in the political rally of Assemblyman Yūzō Asada in Tokyo when he was 6. Because of this, all of his senses have been improved with the ability to detect anything in his surroundings ranging from telling who is an assassin and who is a civilian while being able to tell important details such as having photographic and tracking abilities. Veteran SP officer Sōichirō Ogata recruits him from SP training after being impressed with his training under Section 4 of the SP division. Inoue works with Eri Sasamoto, one of the few women serving in the division. Another officer is Takafumi Yamamoto, who is the only known SP officer to have MMA experience with a preference to use the 7:3 hairstyle ratio. Mitsuo Ishida is the only known SP officer in the section who had been previously married. Together, these men and women work in unison to protect the VIPs assigned to them from being killed by assassins. But when the team is assigned to protect Asada, now the Prime Minister of Japan, Inoue begins to have nightmares relating to the tragedy while Ogata strives to ensure his safety while having some secrets of his own aside from Inoue.
