It does count as a harem (and one of the best around there imo) but definitely does not count as a light novel lol ^^

Can someone recommend me Harem/ecchi type light novels?
For example something similar to Highschool DxD.
I'm not a lot into ecchi/harem title, but among what I read, I would say CubexCursedxCurious (aka C^3)as my main recommendation, and maybe No Game No Life, I suppose.
C^3 is far better in novel than the trashy anime adaptation (if we can call that an "adaptation" anyway) was, and is almost fully translated (translator is currently translating the last volume (17th). No Game no Life is a bit irregular in its quality. Its last volume was the best so far and by far ImO ( although that volume is also the only one that didn't have harem and ecchi component xD).

Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon is very good and addicting, has both a small Harem (3 girls) and is ecchi but that's not the main point of those novels, so if you want something with a main ecchi/harem focus, I'd say that this one is not for you.

As for recommendations,
Manga: Kimi no Iru Machi (Personal favourite)
             Koe no Katachi (Heart Wrenching)
Gantz (Messed up, but addictive... Read with caution!!)
             The Gamer (Gamers can relate)
             Tower of god (Interesting plot)
Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou (For all you perverts out there)
:am:

As for light novels... I've only read a handful, so I'm not really able to give any suggestions other then the ones I've read.
Sooo here it goes.

Light Novels: Shinmai Maou no Keiyakusha ( Meh somewhat okay I guess)
Highschool DxD ( Addictive and favourite so far)
                      Psycho Love Comedy (Pretty interesting)
Hidan no Aria (Gets boring after a while... Not a big fan of loli tsundere characters)

Well thats all I have for now. Have fun reading!
 :yay:

Couldn't exactly find a relevant thread so i'll just post here. I'm looking for a manga I read recently. I think it just started even if the LN behind it has already progressed. It's about a school where all the students are granted a weapon from their soul or some such. And the MC here is the first person to ever have a defensive weapon, a shield.
absolute duo?

Hi, newbie here.  The Newbie Guide indicates this is the place for general recommendations, but the topic appears to preclude anime.  I couldn't find a better place for this, but if there's an appropriate topic, please let me know.

I haven't kept up with anime for a few years save for the work of Studio Ghibli, and I'm looking for some recommendations.  Here's a bevy of examples of anime I've enjoyed in the past:

Studio Ghibli's works (everything they produce)
Satoshi Kon's work (everything he produced)
Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Sakamichi no Apollon / Kids on the Slope (the subject matter is usually not my kind of thing)
Ghost in the Shell (films, and Stand Alone Complex)
Wolf's Rain
Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo
Serial Experiments Lain
Akira
Jin-Roh
The Place Promised in Our Early Days
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Anthology films like Memories, Robot Carnival, Neo Tokyo, and Genius Party

And some examples of series I tried, and could not get into:

Escaflowne
Evangelion
Rurouni Kenshin
Trigun
Full Metal Alchemist
Read or Die

Please assume, I'm already aware of other works by the creators of the above.  Films and shorter series are preferred just due to lack of time, but not a requirement.  Thank you for your assistance.

Mostly of what I've red is a ROM-Com,rom-slice of life-school life-drama, rom-adventure-harem,rom-action
is pretty much what I would recommend

Horimiya is one heck of a cute manga and a must read (well for me)
skip beat a classic but still highly recommended
Half-prince one of the first manwha I've red and definitely fell in love in an instant, mmorpg themed and i like female dominating character  :wahaha:
Strobe edge kind of disappointing since it ended so soon but still worth the read

Currently reading LOVE junkies  bored and still looking around for manga/novel recommendation

I'd really recommend for you guys to read "The Children of Hurin" by J.R.R Tolkien it's such a great novel. It's all about Hurins descendants meeting misfortunes in life including battles against the forces of Morgoth. The first age of "Lord of The Rings" by the same author. :D

Berserk, and no other.
It's a masterpiece
the art may be old, but if u stick with it for a bit, u wont even notice
as keima katsuragi from TWGOK have once said, even in games, those who 'has 10 points in music but 90 points in script' is a masterpiece (if i remember right)

It would be awesome if someone could recommend some Light novels with MMORPG's as the theme as I have been really enjoying them lately.

I have read Sword Art Online and Legendary Moonlight Sculptor so far. So if there are other LN's like these please message me and I'll be very thankful  :XD:

Thanks in advance.

For Devil Survivor fans out there, I would like to recommend Devil Survivor 2: The Animation novel that tells Yamato's past before the 7 days invasion.
