-where you are from/born/raised
i see my self as a citizen of the world, for i like all cultures and all races, and been to many countries, although i mostly see myself as an American./
Bronx, NY, U.S.A. /
i w as raised in multiple places XD 4 years in Holland, 12 in the Dominican republic, 2 in Argentina, the rest in the States ^^

-where you are now
Tampa, Fl, U.S.A.
-what ethnicity/culture you belong to
my mother is Swiss, my dad is Dominican, i was born in the states, i see myself as human rather than stick to any group XD i love them all what can i say./
i love all cultures, i lean more towards Asian culture, and Argentinian but i really learn from the whole world.

-what language you typically speak
i think in mostly English and Spanish, i also know French, Portuguese, and Italian, not perfectly because i've lost practice and finish school a while ago, but soon as my schedule and economic situation is balanced i will regain practice and also add German, Catalan, Japanese, and Korean to my list, i do plan to learn Mandarin before i die, but it is a long road far away for now lol

I don't know about the meaning of patois in English, but in French, it simply means "local language", something that is derived from a main language (e.g. French or English). There are different kinds of patois in France, not only créole, but many other types...

Créole (Creole in English) doesn't actually refer to a single language. It's a language that is produced by the transformation of a language by locals (in this case, transformation of the French language by the people that live in Martinique).
Oh thanks for the info Jo

Hi there.

- I was born in Pau, in the south west of France, something like 120 km away from the atlantic sea and 70km north from spain. I spent somewhat half of my life around this place, moving into different towns but always in the same 150 km area around Pau during my studies, enjoying mountains (haaa snowboard, kayak, i miss you...) and what must be enjoyed while young (friends, music, ****, whatsoever).

- I'm actually living in Paris, since summer 2003. Paris is a great place, but let's be honest : there are lots of disadvantages also : there are at least as much smart and enjoyable people than total morons, life cost is expensive, local public transports are mandatory and wastes lots of a day time. And pubs are fucking expensive for what you get. But anyway, I love this town and have great friends there.

- Culture and beliefs : I'm Agnostic, and would hesitate between calling me a french european guy, or a standard earthling. I don't care believing into any god or sharing it, according to me believing is totally different from practising a form of religious cult, which in my opinion is the best way to bring war and misunderstanding among other people.
I'd qualify myself as an economical fascist toward my political belief : i think that humanity won't progress until it is able to bypass its need of money. It's hard to be clear about it : money is as bad as barter. As far as we still think something is due (ie : should be paid in any form) for something, we will always have richs and poors, and man will always want to have more than his neighbour. This is the very source of the ownership concept. Money has done its role well, but nowadays we're something like 6-7 billion humans on earth and we come to discover than its ressource are limited. The "money" system can't help anymore, it will just bring more gap and hatred between people. But to make that evolve into a world without any ceoncept of "due" for any good or service, man that will take a lot of changes on a lot of countries. I believe that can't be made except by force because man generally still tend to want to own things, if possible more than his neighbour. That's why i believe i'm an economical fascist :P (sorry if i didn't made my point clear, explaining this in english is a bit harsh for me).

That's all for the belief & culture part : religion and politics. Other parts of my culture are social-relevant, or belongs to music, comics, movies, friendship, anything that connects to an ethernet cable, or some other things that can't be bound to a country.

- I speak French of course, i guess i can express myself in english despite having sometimes difficulties to make my point clear, and have basic scolar notions in spanish and german.

- I wish i had money and time to travel all around the world and open to people. But you know, wishes... that's what you think in your bed, just before dreams come...

Its a mixture of a lot of different dialects of subcontinent ( India and Pakistan). its contains words from really old languages like hindko and then more modern languages like phusto and english too. So over here its realitivly the most easily understood language.
ps. Urdu songs are really good

Er... first off pardon my english, we don't speak english Vietnam so most of my english was picked up during my highschool years and from reading mangas, novels and stuff. Anyways it's quite a nice topic you guys have here. Here's my take:

As mentioned above I'm a Viet, yeah straight viet, inside out, technically (I still doubt that though, coz my hometown is far in the north, somewhere near our border with China and most of my friends don't think I look like a Viet). Was born in the south, raised in the same city, but I don't like my city that much, had it not been for my friends lol.

where I am now? in the Uk, it's my final year (came here for my undergrad), and I'm turning 21 this may btw! a bit old compared to some guys here I know.

talking about culture...ee... can Asian be counted as a culture? I don't have any clear idea about the culture thing though lol. but I guess I'm a mixed between chinese and vietnamese since the viet culture is very close to our neighbor's, so close that I hardly see any difference at all. And I watch chinese/taiwanese drama a lot (besides anime), cpop is my cup of tea (a big Jaychou fan here!). well, that's pretty much everything I can talk about regarding culture stuff. enlighten me if there're actually any parameters to define which culture you belong to.

language? vietnamese and english, though my english sucks. I'm self teaching Japanese now, it has been 2 months and I can read around 60 kanjis already (yay!). hopefully I can tackle a 3 kyu paper in 2 year time.
