I'm hailing from Cebu, one of the islands of the small country of the Philippines. We're basically next door neighbors with Japan but haven't gone there yet (not even once), opportunity has not knocked yet. Lived here and still living here.... I guess. Philippines is one of the Christian countries, but some Muslims and other ethnic religions still lives.... as for me well, I was baptized Christian.
We are of the Malay race and our 'kayumangi' (a tone of fleshy-brown) is one of our distinct features. But is now mixed in with other races as well with the occupation of Japan and America, the settlement of Chinese and intermarriages with other races.
The Philippines is one of the sought tourists around the world go to for vacations. it is an archipelago with 7,107 (that's a lot) and more than 200 ethnic languages (inc. Tagalog, Waray, Cebuano, Ilocano and the list goes on, and oh some are dying by the way) and a lot of other adopted languages (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, German to name a few).
Although 'Filipino' is our national language, we have come to embrace the Universal Language as our main secondary language. And because of our relatively cheaper education and high quality neutral accent English, we are also a destination for non-English country citizens to study English.
We are food loving, songs singing, peace loving country.
