Okay, I'll grant that 'tou' can be used for rope or string. I'll also grant that 'broekie' means short pants. Sadly though put the two together and you don't get thong, you get the Afrikaans word for sandwich. Unless there was some major deep pun, with buns or something, I reckon you're stretching the use of the language.

Ek is nie rustig nie, net 'n klein bietjie stadig vanaand.

^I did it to a bunch of Mexican workers at one of my favorite burrito places all summer. I accidentally responded to the cashier in spanish one time and his face flushed. They then asked how long I was listening in to them and told them the whole time. Then they laughed and gave me a free burrito  :yay:

I did it at an dutch airport..
they usually gives people from Suriname the pooper hole check/and other drugs check, if you're around my age.

I just let them scan my bag.
get to the other side and talk with them in Dutch :hahaha:

It's a school language. I still read books, watch movies and listen to music in french. But even after 7 years of studying, if you have no active contact with a language, the ability to speak it with any degree of fluency slips from your grasp.

So yeah, I pretty much didn't have anyone to talk to...

i have taken french for about 14 years
