I guess that the last few chapters will probably be full of ecchi scenes again. Maybe the last arc will just be about who Negi will choose

I, in my humble opinion, am certain that
A: Negi and the rest will return to mahora before the end of the series, and
B: once there, there will be at least 2 chapters, probably more, of ecchi humor before it goes back to all this fighting.
to be honest I don't really like the series before the kyoto arc: I get embarassed and can't continue reading.

I don't think that Rakan would be enough of an asshole to keep the money they need to free Ako from being a slave.

But I think it's funny that they just started a fistfight after all these overpowered attacks.

Wonder if those three are the "supposed" hired bodyguard by Rakan to protect the Imperial Twilight Princess... A queen of fanservice, a fire maid and a running nun... How are they gonna "protect" the princesses?

Well Negi got so much more than that just before the Rakan fight, he literally crammed like 6 months into 3 days.

Me personally I'm a Konoka-Setsuna Shipper, but over all the anime has always been fun for me. The one thing I think that irritates some is how Akamatsu likes to suddenly start talking about a different character in the midst of a arc.

My friend sees it as filler, I personally think its because, as Akamatsu-san has said, Negi's class has 31 students. If he just covers one group of them, its not the same to me.

Hmm... Negima's been going on for a while, hasn't it?
Started out like a magical rom-com... then it evolved into a magical rom-com-shounen story chock full of super-powered fighting and fanservice. Yeah, the fanservice. 

Oddly enough, the best heroes out there have both great potential and great amounts of training to hone their skills... no problem if you have access to a time-distorting beach resort.

Whether he sold the rights to the anime, Akamatsu-san Is a director and producer for the Ala Alba series, most feel thats why its so faithful.

And sorry about reviving the topic, I didn't know that we are not to post in "old" topic.

They've currently planned a set of 4 OVAs covering the Trip to the Magical world story Arc, though how far it goes into it is unknown. After that their debating a movie Adaptation but a third series is not out of the question as yet.

Wasn't there some sort of campaign going on during the sale of the last volumes of the manga? Something like... if the sales went over 10000, they would consider making another OVA, and a new TV series around 20000? Either way, yeah, the Ala Alba OAV was far more superior to all the past adaptations.

Even though the art seemed like recolored manga pages (just me though), and they even took the dialogue directly from the manga as well, word for word.

About the Rakan fight in the current chapters...

The Ala Alba OVAs blew everything else out of the water. And thats coming from a solid Negima fan. It, to me, is what the first series should have been.

But mate look at the dates in this topic and don't revive topics like 7 months old, I enjoy the particular topic, but don't make it a habit.

As for the Neo, It appeals to a different audience than the regular manga...Not bad to me, but different...

Yeah, Ken should've done the 1st series that way, but I think the author has no more influence after he decided to "sell" the right of making the anime to the producers. And that's why he, and Kodansha, decided to keep it this time with the OVA

Hm...seems like an old topic but I think it needs to be revived. We should discuss new Negima chapters. I'm still waiting on 246 to see the outcome between Negi and Rakan.

Strengths:
the Second was far better animated, and i think it covers the characters characteristics better. It does a lot better job on many fronts.

Weaknesses:
Only two things really.. The first was the plot. just who's ass did they pull it from? The other was the pactio system in it.. Suka cards....i enjoyed it more than the first but it kinda felt like another anime with a negima skin(yea thats harsh)

Really speaking though the only one i think that got plot, character design and animation and character characteristics is the Ala Alba Ova. it is just awesome. i know what they said, but i think they should make a third series anyways. styles after Ala Alba. i would so buy that. the Ken+Shaft combination is astounding.

thats my random two cents.

I got kinda bored with the plot of the second series half way through, they just drag the story too long and just make it... boring. That's why I prefer the way the Negima!? Neo manga presented it, short yet enjoyable.
Talking abt the Neo manga, at least we have more fan service and more side-characters story, better development when compared with its anime counterpart.

honestly speaking, i think that the manga is the best (it covers so much beyond any animated bit)

that said each of the animes has its own strengths and weaknesses.


Mahou Sensei Negima:

Strengths:
It was Truer to the plot, not that it was that hard. and the battle bits were great in the negima sort of way

Weaknesses:Everything else
The original anime had a fairly cruddy animation style, and left out a lot of the plot*cough*Kotaro*cough*
and i'm so not even going into the ending of it....not to mention i think it did a bad job of getting each of the characters, well, characteristics right. all in all it wasnt as bad as it could have been but close

Hmm... The preoder for the OAD must reach 50000 for a movie and reaching 100000 will spawn a 3rd series...
Now the preorder for the limited 23th edition is about 34000 I think... Is there a possibility reaching 100k or at least 50k ^^'?

Ken is more focused on negi seeking his father the thousan master.
