MangaRock on Android is really buggy. You can't get any more free slots, since the ad supplier doesn't work. I switched to ZingBox. You can download as many manga series as you wish and their selection is even better than MangaRock's. The only issue I've had is that I gotten a few new chapters a bit late. Each time I do, I simply switch servers and basta.  :elephantdancef:

At the beginning I used HoneyView (let's forget about that short and sad period of Windows Image Viewer) and was quite satisfied with it. I tried to get into ComicRack, but it was too laborious to organize and set things up.
Then a while ago I switched to Ubooquity, a server solution, as I wanted to read on my tablet, too. Everything is accessed through the browser, so there are no need for additional apps, which makes it pretty convenient in my opinion.

Nice to see, that this thread is still alive and kicking.  :evil-thought:

For those who use an ipad, there is a small app, for free, which i find very powerful, it's manga rock.
It's not the only one, but last time i searched for an app (2013), it had the few simple features that i was looking for
It's also on android, but i did not test it.

1 - access to different server
You can access to :
- batoto
- mangareader
- mangafox
- mangaeden
- mangahere
It's very useful, because NOT every server has the manga you like.

2 - one page with all the latest release (it means, you can see what just came out on a glance)
It's interesting to discover new manga
Be careful, it can easily become time consuming ( and even addictive ?) if you are an open and curious mind.

3 - selected manga release page (it means, you can see only the releases you are interested in)
Basically, it's like having an RSS.

The only limitation
You just need to stay connected to read.
This one is for free with no limitation whatever, beside FULL downloading on your tab and your own private cloud, which I find a useful service, only if you are on long distant fly or regular train/tube travelling where online connection is off.

Of course, there are others apps who do the same job. But this one does the job. If you have your own app on your own tab, please share your user experience.

Manga watcher for android tablet is great but if you wanna read on pc i suggest Mangameeya. I think its free and has lots of good features... even folder advance if you have the manga unzipped as some choose to do.  :hi:

I use HoneyView, on Windows and Linux (via wine, works fine mostly, unless you use Enter and browse in the selection window through the images in the archive). I've tried supposedly better solutions, like MangaMeeya, but HVs slickness, minimalistic not-cluttered UI and just-works^TM keeps me with it.

It's worth to mention open source QComicBook, but it's no way near the competition, and UX isn't as good as it should to gain users. I have to praise it for implementing panel-navigation algorithm for instance (sure, it's not perfect, but it's a really hard thing to do right).

I'm still thinking about doing my own cross-platform (Qt) minimalistic viewer for PDFs (and images in folders/archives as a second priority feature). Well, Okular+HoneyView are almost good enough, so I always postpone starting it, and there are always more important things to do... :)

i prefer comicrack, but its navigation is not intuitive so it takes some time to get used on. and it is extremely slow on old computers.

Ive liked using All Manga Reader. It's a Chrome browser based viewer so it might fit in a different catagory, but it has made reading manga in a browser actually enjoyable.

I'm looking for someone but can't find it... ^^

I like Comix.  It seems to work pretty well.  If you're using kubunto (KDE), okular seems to work pretty well too.

One problem I have CDisplay is that it orders pictures based on the first number of the file name.

So for example, if the files go:
8.png
9.png
10.png

CDisplay will order them:
10.png
8.png
9.png

You have to manually rename the files:
08.png
09.png
10.ong

Do you have any recommendations for good readers that have a file browser within them? It's one of the main reasons I've continued to use ACDsee.. I can just click on an archive in the file browser and it gets loaded into the acdsee image viewer.
