Due to the fact that I almost read all my manga on the computer ; and not much satisfied by acdsee - irfanview's capabilities ; I've looked for specialized software and found some real nice stuff

Hamana

http://miyano.s53.xrea.com/

My personal choice. Highly customizable ; uses directx for awesome page turning effects ; easy to browse your collection ; supports both zipped and unzipped files

Comicsviewer

http://www.comicer.com/stronghorse/software/exe/ComicsViewer_eng.zip

I like this one as much as Hamana. It has some features Hamana don't have and also the opposite is true. Has clock display ; nice bookmarking system vice versa. A must try imo

Picwalker

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Viewers/PicWalker.shtml

Has a manga reading mode ; uses sliding method.

I hate to ask, but can someone reupload manga meeya?

It's a great program and navigating through manga s is very simple, and works seamlessly for me. Unfortunately, my older PC had it but I did a complete system restore recently. Now I am hoping if anyone here has a copy of the program they're willing to share. Thank you in advance ;)  >.<

Here is a great wiki database that lists ¿all? of the programs used to view manga/comics: http://www.zcultfm.com/~comic/wiki/index.php/Comic_Viewers

I like CDisplay in windows,

but when i use linux, i used comix and like it more than CDisplay.. you don't need to use different key to load the next zip files..

well, I like these kind of tools because:
1) no need to extract
2) can display 2 pages at once (i'm using a very high resolution display)
3) can zoom
4) easier to move around between files (can use mouse/keyboard shortcut)

2 things I like better from comix are:
a) it can handle multi level compressed file (some zip archives have zipped chapters inside!! this can be handled by comix and not CDisplay!)
b) use the same shortcut for "next page" and "next zip file".. so you can navigate between archive files seemlessly (no need shift+L)

http://comix.sourceforge.net/

Note:
- not for weak hearted ppl coz the installation is a bit challanging.. (well i guess most linux users understand it though)..

i only use CDisplay when its the only program that can open the file, i don't see any reason NOT to unzip the manga...

jup, same goes for me, i like my mangas unzipped

btw if you ever got .cbr data, just rename the 'cbr' into 'rar' or 'zip', voila, you can unzip the pics now.

why not just read them with the XP picviewer??
I assume you mean the normal "Windows Picture and whatever" display thingy

1) you have to unzip/rar/whatever them
2) I like to magnify my mangas to have a better look at the art (the notebook display is not very high~) and sometimes some mangas have small fonts =>PDisplay you can use different/easier ways for magnifying (not the whole pic etc.)
3) in "XP Picviewer" you can't click on the screen to jump to the next pic
4) you have this ugly background color and not the nice black
5) I guess several others....

(I'm comparing it with PDisplay)

WOW, this might seriously come hand. I was doing the reading manually. That was pretty sad.  :cries:
