I created a few poet in school before, if you don't mind please check them out. I'm waiting for replies.
              Empty
People from the east, west, south and north
These people were fill with hatred and detestation,
Regardless, anger has not get me
Sustaining those hate and neutralize it.

Evil Curse and storm rage
Wrath and envious behavior,
Yet, I felt nothing inside
Empty as an void.

Bashing and Crashing violently
Lies and Irritation you express
But still emotionless and vacuum,
My thought was null and blank.

Yell and cried thunderous
Fury, outrage, and enrage,
Desolated and apathetic
And nothing will harm me.

Young age argument
New York, City that never sleep
Lights on and we party on,
But none know the cost was too deep
What they have done is wrong.

Steak, cheese and bread
Joyful and fed,
But how many animals are dead
And how many animal they torn red.

Cars drift and dashing by
Radio playing, driving at will,
But how many knew that this is a lie
Vulnerable children vacuum this air and became ill.

New york city had turn Flithy
And no one seem to be bother, fool
New york is only in the shell of former beauty
What? There are lead in our water too?

Hey, I was wondering here if anyone tries writing some poetry in their spare time.  I haven't done it for too long, but I sometimes like to write random rhymes that come to mind and end up writing a lyric about it.  Last semester I helped a group of guys write poems for ever girl on campus (it was a small campus) for Valentine's Day which was pretty fun.  Apart from Valentine's Day poems, I also write random poems and poems with a religious theme.

I figured I'd post an example:
"Duck Sailor (#15)

Sailing out on the open sea,
A duck bade his family be
Hopeful, happy and of good cheer,
As he sails away for a year.

Clashing, crashing, cov'ring his boat.
Such waves; he barely stayed afloat.
Flashing, smashing; thunder he heard,
Dark sky; quickly his steed he spurred.

At last a CRACK; boat's split in two,
The Duck realises that sadly it's true.
His boat is gone, shattered and done,
Clinging to driftwood is no fun.

Wet like a rag he drifts ashore,
He leaves his boat; he'll sail no more.
He sets out upon a journey,
Marching to his native country.

He comes to the end of his roam,
The duck sailor at last comes home.
This mallard's heart is wild and free,
At sea his heart will ever be.

It's nonsense I know, and probably I need to try and edit it more, but it came up when I found I couldn't fall asleep in Math class (that class is kind of ridiculous for a liberal arts major, sadly it's required).

I really enjoyed reading your poem! I was able to imagine what was going on on the sea! Nice work!

You should never call your own work nonsense, cos if no one else, at leat you should believe in it! Trust me on that cos I'm speaking of my own experience.

You found your inspiration in math class, i find mine when i'm about to sleep, you never know when its gonna hit you :shy:

Hi.

Was just randomly wandering around the forum when I come across this topic. :)

I write poems, too, and would be glad to share one of them with all of you here. But am not very good with rhymes and metres, to be honest - so my poems are mostly free verse.

Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!

Hope you guys enjoyed it, even though it is nothing much. ^_^

Well, I would also like to share a couple of my poems. Since English is not my native language (I'm Russian), I belive there will be some mistakes (especially those connected with the use of tenses :sigh:). But I still enjoy writing in English, as I like how it sounds.

The first one was written as a dedication to the precious person, whom I lost...

And the second...

This one came completly unexpected. I was at the meeting with my colleagues, and while they discussed something, I started thinking about the weekend, and it just popped into my mind, so I wrote it down.
Inspiration strikes really unexpectedly sometimes ))

ah in here so many poets, even poeters can be found at bus ~ ~

I know! I have chatted with people on a bus which are completely strangers several times and I have heard wind of poems that are awesome, or creepy in a very original way!

Of course that normal people usually don't bug strangers in a bus, but I have a strong intuition with people and I have the power to click with anyone... Though I ended up in a religious discussion with an old lady that gave me 5 pamphlets of a religion that wasn't my own... It was extremely weird! But the again it's my fault for taking with random people at random... That makes random things happen XD.

Now back to the forum topic. I also write poetry ^_^ I consider myself to be extremely good at it... unfortunately I write mainly in Spanish since my English -even if not half bad- is not my native idiom + why should I write poetry in English? I mean, yeah, sure I can write one or two, but I doubt I could make my poems sound beautiful due to my lack of vocabulary, knowledge and expressions... geeze if only more people read things in spanish I could show off (See how my humility is top grade, sooooooooo touching XD)

That was cute the second to last stanza made me think of Odesus. I also write some thou mostly I write free verse. I am sure there are lots of poets who are here . in fact most of my personal friends who enjoy anime write in fashion or another. If interested maybe they should start a poets corner to post and review poetry here.
