Scanning is more than most people do, so do what is most comfortable for you.

I have a question: what technical specs for the scans are optimal in Winny club? (resolution, DPI, file format). I'd like to make and post a few scans.

just wondering where i should look for some info if... there is no lounge ...
or the thread i'm looking for is currently dead...

http://www.jcafe24.net/index.php?topic=28322.0

just wondering if this series is actually still continue in origin? or is it axed...
at manga updates there is no info, but the last update was like 6 mth ago...

Happened to see this post by accident.  I know it's been a year since you posted but out of curiosity I looked up the series.  It's still listed as 5 volumes (ongoing) on Japanese websites, but the last time any new episodes were published was waaaay back in 2011.  Since this was one of those series that started and stopped several times at different magazines, there's some small hope that it might get picked up again somewhere in order to write a "final" volume.  Looks like there was a spin off from this series as well so all I can say is we may have to wait a couple of years to find out. (Or, wait for the author to die of old age, whichever comes first :-P)

Re: Offering digital manga raws
« Reply #50 on: November 20, 2014, 01:32:17 AM »
I'll just merge this with the off topic thread here, as other threads like this one have just been fused with that one.
If I send it anywhere else, no one will notice it, as the appropriate boards aren't frequented at all.

Offering digital manga raws
« Reply #49 on: November 19, 2014, 10:59:24 PM »
== Disclaimer: I'm not sure if this is allowed here or - if it is - if this is the right forum to post in, so if this thread violates the rules please just close it ==

Hello,

I'm offering digital manga raws for private use, including scanlation. If there are digital raws available for the manga you're looking for, I can most likely get them.

Advantages of digital raws:

- no shipping fees

- no scanning required

- good quality (only minimal cleaning required)

- Instant delivery (I can get you the raws within 1 day if they are available)

- the price is comparable and often even cheaper than the Tankoubons (bound volumes) in Japanese stores

Limitations:

- Manga sales in digital format are relatively new, so the older the manga you're looking for is, the less likely the chance that I can get it

Price: I charge $5 per item as compensation + the item price.

File format: ZIP Archive or any Ebook format

Send me a mail to m.saradj[at]hotmail.de with the item you want and I'll see if I can get it. Thanks :)

I'm having trouble finding several magazines this month (Gangan, Jump SQ, Gundam Ace, Shonen Ace and a couple of others). Did we lose one of the Japanese sources?
the latest issues of those magazines (among others) weren't available last month too. a new issue of jump sq just surfaced yesterday. i do believe it is the may issue.

Oh sorry, I didn't know that the mangas had to already have been scanned(I wouldnt know if they have or haven't been eitherway) and I also didn't know this wasn't were you can request at.  The topic did say request but after reading a bit more I can see my mistake  :sob:

I guess that explains why I couldn't find them but I could have sworn Ive seen man-ken vol 5 raw somewhere.

Does anyone have raw scans for man-ken vol 4-5? I know I've seen 4 somewhere but I can't seem to find it anymore.

The one by kase daiki by the way since I know there's another manga by the same name.

If you can't find that one there's also SEITOKAI TANTEI KIRIKA vol 3 that I can't find either.  Thanks in advance.
Do you have Hayate no Gotoku! vol 39 and 40  no one have scanned these recently  :p!ssed:
No, no, and no. None of the things the two of you have mentioned have been scanned.
I would also like to say, that this topic is by no means, a place to request anything, ever. That being said, if you meet the necessary requirements, which neither of you do, requests can be made in the Requests & Search child board.

Aside from posting at AJ, I posted at Manga Helpers and Manga Updates. I have little success in recruiting for peeps for the scanlation group I want to create. The only thing I'm having a hard time with is editors is Japanese/Korean and (Traditional) Chinese to English translators.

Hopefully this isn't considered a necro, the last reply isn't *that* old.
Another new option, at least for Tumblr users, may be to make a post asking for people to help on a certain series and tag it with the series and author name. Other people who track or check the tag can see those posts, and can reblog them and help get the word out there. I've found that a lot of tumblr users are very passionate about series they like, and a good number of them have at least rudimentary image editing skills. There's also a ton of people that have pretty decent translation skills that may be willing to lend a hand.

I've actually had people offer to help me without my asking for it, which is very sweet of them, even if I prefer to stay as a 2 person operation. That's how I'd go about trying to put a group together if I needed to find another editor or a translator.
I'll definitely remember animejobber if I need anyone in the future.
Animejobber is a really neat idea and I hope it goes well!
