Well with the loss of #lurk, Crazy's Manga, and Manga Traders I am just about completely S.O.L. for filling in gaps in my non-licensed English translated manga, and I have no idea where to begin to look to find anything. Does anyone know of any sites that posts non-licensed English manga for dl.

Good thing that I stumbled upon this post!

As a newbie, it's really hard to find your way around the forums.

My thanks in advance to everyone who are constantly sharing their knowledge and resources to the members of this community.

This is very helpful and informative.

Good idea !!!

I'll build a list of alive sites, and will post them here...

Posted on: July 28, 2008, 01:01:48 am

Ok, let's start !

Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!

Mostly ecchi, from what I understood (via Google Translate).
It also aggregates guill's and frozenflame's sites.
Hint: grab the raws of Sweet Body, if you like fine art !

The best raws search engine:
Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!
From what I understood, the site owner is in vacation.

Posted on: July 28, 2008, 12:32:00 pm

Another site is dead: manga777.

Last mirror:
Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!

It's time I grab the dead links and put them in the raws search engine !

Posted on: July 28, 2008, 01:26:53 pm

Manga search engine (a lot of raws too):

Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!

Here is a list of links (A-K today, M-Z tomorrow)

Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!

Note that I collected the links in May, so a lot of new raws sites may have appeared meanwhile.

Here are the remaining sites:
Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!

The following links died:
Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!
meaning that I have some work to revive the links  :hahaha:

Are you interested in a tutorial to locate raws and how to mass download them (especially on megaupload) ?

Posted on: August 07, 2008, 01:11:26 am

Another raws site:

Posted on: August 10, 2008, 02:44:28 pm

Another site just died:

http://comicome.blog95.fc2.com/

Megalodon got some backup:
http://s02.megalodon.jp/2008-0913-1620-08/comicome.blog95.fc2.com/

Too bad I discovered this site TODAY.

Just for reference, I discovered it thanks to this feed:
http://www.google.com/reader/shared/user/10664261705587353572/label/%E6%BC%AB%E7%94%BB%E3%83%BBDDL

Trying to post all the useful links before they disappear.

Posted on: September 13, 2008, 11:16:15 pm

A new (?) raw site, with only shoujo:

http://bishiehaven.blogspot.com/
Posted on: September 18, 2008, 03:32:42 pm

Two new sites:

http://shoujoman.blogspot.com/
http://shounenman.blogspot.com/

with some pretty old mangas.

I'm currently reviving 10 sites. Will post the links very soon  :hahaha:
Posted on: September 19, 2008, 09:16:21 pm

Just found this very nice site:

Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!

Posted on: October 11, 2008, 01:09:34 am

A new dead today:

http://mnpk-manga.blogspot.com/

I'll collect all the cached links, before they disappear definitely.

Posted on: November 04, 2008, 09:22:42 pm

It seems that Tenchu3rd doesn't hold any manga now  :imd:

http://tenchu3rd.alink7.uic.to/

I'll extract the links before they die.

Posted on: November 05, 2008, 11:37:44 pm

Another new site, updated daily:

Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!

Another one:

Posted on: November 07, 2008, 05:17:55 pm

A new site:

http://wankosouko.blogspot.com/

Posted on: December 03, 2008, 09:15:52 pm

Another new one:

http://mamama2008.alink7.uic.to/

This one seems pretty complete.
Probably 400+ series.

Re: Japanese Manga Sites Closed Down :(
« Reply #45 on: July 30, 2008, 03:37:18 AM »
Yes, it's sad that the site was shut down yesterday, but it's not because of being known, otherwise jcafe24 would have been dead since a few months !

Some remarks:

1) the raws sites list disappeared from Winny Club on purpose
2) tenchu-two was the biggest still alive, but NOT the biggest one ever (if I remember correctly, it was reiji)
3) my project to keep the links alive just needs to be refreshed, because around 10 sites disappeared since 3 months
4) being shut down is normal, since their activity is illegal in Japan, but the status is different in our countries. Let's hope the original author doesn't get any problem.
5) as someone posted before, megalodon.jp keeps track of the pages, but it's our search engine that gives value to these pages.
6) posting original links allows to keep the links alive, and the owner gets some credits with every download. However, it should be mentioned when the links are yours or not, because it's unethical to steal other uploads for your own credit !

Yes, pink is up but at a different address.

A lot of sites died recently, so I recommend to not publish them here, especially if they are japanese.

If you find that a site died recently, please PM me, so that I can retrieve the links and publish them on our search engine: http://crazytje.be/raw_search/
In return, I'll send you a list of great sites for raws.

Reviving the dead sites is very important, because this allows to keep the links alive, since the files are generally removed after 3 months of inactivity.

Ok, some hint if you want to retrieve the page of a japanese site, since archive.org won't work:

Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!

Enter the URL, and you'll be able to get a copy of the page, at a given moment.

Despite a crash of my hard-drive, I browsed the Web all the day to find new sites (mostly discovering japanese music sites ).
Since a lot of excellent sites disappeared recently, I won't publish any more links here, but here is a list of the dead sites sorted by decreasing size (hoping this list won't increase too much):

Sorry, please read the forum rules to see why you can't view spoilers and why you can't post in this forum section. Thank you!

I'll now catalog the raws in these sites and publish them on a new site very soon !

could you make a topic screenshot from jpmp3.com?

here's a screenshot of the manga thread. it's a rather large forum, but it is all in japanese, so i wouldn't recommend it to everybody.

File hosts? I found some good ones lately. Drop.io lets you make shares, which you can set to last for a year without any views. And then there's filedropper.com, with a 5 gb file limit. Also, there's eatlime.com, which lets you dl while the persons uploading it.

I know those two too. kiligaris has decent raws but it hasn't been updated for a looong time. Those listed there can also be found on Free Manga and Esthetique. And Michex still has the registration removed. I mean, I've been trying to get there for 1 year and still nothing!

Agressive? Not at all. We're on an open for discussion forum for god's sake!  :yay:

Anyhow, what guill points out is right. But still, not all ppl can handle resources as P2P. And many are new in the anime/manga industry. I don't think just because of lack of resources and knowledge they should be left out. We were all once young... So I support the existance of such communities.

But what is stated above is true. On another notice, I believe some ppl buy manga after a good raw/scanlating read, and support the title and mangaka. At least I do. As for scanlators it'd be best to buy tanks themselves and work their way up the old-earnest way, but still handing them resources isn't bad imo. Also, with communities such as these (jCafe, Raw Manga Blogspot, MangaHelpers etc) many willing scanlators have at least the 1st, raw material to work on. Though,  in recent years many titles are dropped, speed of releases lowers to an unbearable extend and both old and new good series never get picked up. Many so-called raw-hunters come and grab all various titles, to just store and never even shuffle through them. On the other hand, some series like Bleach, Naruto, One Piece etc (mainstream) have a bunch of scanlation teams and translators working on them. Don't take me wrong, I too follow many of those series. But in recent years I wonder why can't they willingly grab and start on another title rather than have 5 scanlations and 10 trls for 1 series... Most of them do a very good job. Can't they let 1 of them do it and the others follow trough something else?

I'm agree with senbonzakura. Megaupload and rapidshare (wich are probably 2 of the safiest filehost) are not that expensive.

Megaupload is just 6$ for one month and if you generate enough download, you can win 1 month / 6 months / life premium membership quite quckly.
For rapidshare, it's the same. You pay once, and with 10000download on your account you win an other free month of membership.
Believe me or not, but generating 10/50000 download a month is not that hard when your are not just a leecher ^^

Regarding raw sites, I think you just listed the more reliable and known ones. I have too some japanese "sources" , but well as it's all in japanese I don't think it's a great idea to add them here for now. Anayway, you can too find lot of japanese raw on chinese board, well mostly are mag scan, but sometimes you will see tank scan (99% of time, quality is just so-so).

This idea of "communauty", well as good points and bad points. Good is probably that you all be able to find more raws, dl faster, spend less time,...
Bad points (only my opinion) :
               - communauty means that all links will be shared everywhere, and that would/could be a problem for smaller sites (you know what i mean)
               - raw hunting must remain an "hard task" : lot of people right now never give a minute on how using a japanese p2p, even don't even know a word of japanese, too easy to find raws means so much leechers and so few helpers...

Badest point is for scanlation teams. Yeah it's great to be able to find a lot of raw volumes everywhere, but recently teams are scanlated stuff without ever buying 1 book. Scanlating means, for me, spending a lot of time on scanning/translating/editing/checking, well something you must be proud of,  so you SHOULD at least buy volumes you work on.

Anyway, my idea of communauty is somehow  different. My "wish" will probably to set up a "scanning communauty", just 50-100 motivated pals that can bring each month 100-200 new raw volumes.
That's why I "hate" (well I don't hate them, I just don't care) so much site/irc chan like lurk , that only brings stuff from p2p , never scan for stuff themself and think they are "raw god". And that's why I'm 100% with mangahelpers where people scan/translate/help others users.

I hope I'm not aggresiv with anybody and stay open about comments ^^

There are many other URLs but either temp down or verry little to share. I'll keep tracking some and add when they're available.

And somethig on filehosts. Some years back it was unthinkable to even pay to dl something. Nowadays there are many limitations that corner many users to buy Premium Memberships. That actually isn't too bad. For Example the 2 top Filehosts MegaUpload and Rapidshare. Megaupload is one of the best imo. It has no speed limit, no waiting, gives you 250 GB upload space and limitless all-round-the-day dls. And the cost is 60 Euros per year. That is the current pricing. Back on Christmas it was 50 Euros. And if you got some upload speed, you can share files and earn ponts wich will get you up for more months. If you're a working man/woman and you really dl much it's a good deal. Same with Rapidshare. It's 55 Euros, back on Christmas 50 too!. The limits are 25 GB per 5 days and ddl links. Also has a file sharing point system wich can get you more months. Even 4-Share has a lifetime 10 GB/week policy for 15 USD!

My point, if you can afford it: 1)Keep a few dollars/euros etc in your pockets every month, 2)Look out for special discounts, usually 3 times a year 3)Get some 6 month membership and work your way up with filesharing.
Note: This applies if your quite a hardcore anime/manga fan and you're dl-ing with broadband...

Lol, I only knew 3/4 of these, this is a good addition, for both old and new dlers. Btw, you should probably add that my site is having some server errors. Never mind, it finally works! It was due to a permissions error, files weren't set to 644, and folders to 755. Also, you should change MH's dl speed to poor-very good, they use sendspace for a lot of raws, and that's a very slow file host.

Manga Sharing Site Discussions
« Reply #1 on: April 09, 2008, 05:05:57 PM »
Hello guys and gals! As you all know this community has made it's first big steps into the vast world wide net for some time now. Making this forum 1 year, 5+ days back (yes, many ppl forgot but we ought to have a party!) nobody, or at least I, wouldn't have thought that it'd become a place with so many users, hundends of RAW manga titles and thousands of RAW manga file uploads. And not to mention the other forum sections... Though, it seems so far behind, it's not. And it's thanks to all of you and your efforts, your contributions that we came so far and continiue pushing forward.
It's been nagging me for some time now the fact that many ppl who ask where we get the raws or how to get the raws etc, don't have enough resources. There have been several tutorials on P2P programs posted here by fellow admins and mods HERE. I thought of making a different approach, in a more direct way. Not all ppl can handle that apprach after all. There are many old and new Sharing Communities, Sites, Forums, LiveJournals etc all around the web, some smaller, some bigger than "us", doing exact the same thing, sharing many different series/titles. My thoughts were to try to make a decent post out of this posting many of these Communities that I bumped into in my many years of RAW manga searching...

There's a saying that if you don't praise your house,...

So here we go:
