Looks like ncode.syosetu.com was wiped and banned from Wayback Machine. Can't read removed novels anymore.

Do check out the Narou Rubygem. It supports update and EPUB and MOBI file creation.
-EDIT- Plus it supports Hamelin.

    • my tl works..
I use Pocket on my kobo/phone. It auto download the texts on web pages.
I usually add the pages using the pocket extension on chrome then sync the stuff on my kobo/phone. It's been an invaluable service for me the past two years. I highly suggest it.

I've forked LordZero25's Syosetu-Downloader.

Major differences from the original:
  • Support non-Windows environment, Linux + Mono framework to be specific. The original will create very "funny" outputs if it's not Windows.
  • GUI tweaks to be a bit more user-friendly. Tooltips + "In Progress..." indicator.
  • Support CLI-only usage (for batch, automation, and CLI freaks like me).
  • Verbose CLI status.

I'll just merge this with the existing Novel Script thread, as the intentions of your thread and the aforementioned thread are very similar.

Shosetsuka ni Narou Downloader
« Reply #46 on: June 19, 2015, 05:19:01 AM »
If this is not allowed here please feel free to delete this thread.

I know that there is an existing one but it doesn't support the series that i was reading which has a different link its subdomain was "novel18" and not "ncode". So i decided to create one myself.

Looks like I forgot to upload the newest version before, the version on my machine can actually download that series (although some of the chapters are missing on wayback machine and for some reason checkboxes don't disappear):

Thank you for the shosetsuka script. While the icons for html and text generation appear in the older versions (~2012) of shosetsuka in the webarchive, they don't work. The chapters don't have the checkboxes.
Post a link to the series.

BT changed the way they handled thumbnails and images, this updated version should work with those, but might break compatibility with wayback machine.

Updated the chapter splitter, there was a problem with series that had many volumes with the same name, so I added volume count to the directory name (or file name in the "split into volumes" mode).

If you use chapter splitter tool, you might as well grab the Text (ruby) version. There is no notes section there (and I'm not even sure how well the tool works with the Html version).

It seems to work perfectly for HTML version as well though.

the tool splits chapters into individual files and then I just have to format styles a bit ( align center & increases line spacing) for better readability.
I really appreciate your script mate.

My main desktop screen is 27" but I also sometimes read it on my 13" laptop.  Unfortunately I'm still an upper beginner at Japanese reading and I find the kanji really hard to read if they're not mega big (learnt Kanji from RTK method and still needed to analyze each radicals).

As for the "Note:" element, your solution worked perfectly. but it's fine now, I used the chapter splitter tools that you uploaded instead because zooming on pages that contain the whole novel content can be a bit laggy.
