tl;dr: I love anime, manga and light novel as well as Japan itself and am looking forward to be part of this community! Thank you very much for having me!!
Hello everyone! Thanks for accepting me to jCafe! This site seems very interesting and unique, so I'm looking forward to get along with you all!
Soo, about me: Male, 20 years old, living in Germany. As of now, I'm going to university, studying web programming and social media.
My parents are Russian, I was raised within Russian culture, hence I think of myself as Russian, too. I'm also very interested in the English language, spending a lot of time reading stuff and playing games in english (I like to experience stuff as close to the original as possible, which is also a reason for choosing english versions over germans for example).
My favorite anime is Re:Zero (Rem is waifu), but it's a close race - there are so many anime I absolutely love. Re:Zero, however, is No. 1 because, well Rem.
Let's get to the important part: why do I want to be part of this community?
I started playing games on my sixth birthday, for I got my first console - the ps1 - on this day. My favorite game must be Kingdom Hearts, which I hold special memories with. This got me closer to japanese media. My interest in anime, however, was born after watching 'Darker than Black' with my aunt about 10 years ago. I didn't understand much, but it got me incredibly captivated. Since then, I started watching more and more anime and soon, I wanted to know how my favorite stories continued. With this, I started reading a lot of manga. Many manga, however, were only available online in english, which is why I got so engaged in the english language.
Today, I have to admit that anime and manga as well as video games played a key role in developing the person that I am. Over the years, my interest in Japan as a country as well as it's culture (being more than just anime and manga) grew rapidly. My life's big dream is to not only travel to Japan, but to live there, getting engaged in it's culture and being part of everything this beautiful country has to offer.
This website seems to be a great place to exchange opinions and experiences connected to Japan and its pop culture of course. I discovered it by accident on my quest of searching the internet for light novels (lately, every anime I was interested based on LN's and the like) and I thought I might just come and join in!
I'd be very happy to make some friends, so feel free to drop a quick message and say hi :]
If you want to chat or get to know me (and the stuff I love), I kindly ask you to contact me on tumblr, for I will check this (probably) more frequently: goofyishere
Sorry for talking so much and thanks for reading! See you guys around :]
PS.: Rem is best girl
