GRRRRR!! I really did not like the ending to this. I really hate how alot mangaka think its ok to leave so many loose ends to a long story, yes, sometimes its okay to leave some of it up to the readers to make their own kind of ending with imagination but COME ON!.

Hello people There is any extra in last tankoubon? Now that would be nice, especially if an extra chapter explained some of the unanswered questions. Let's hope that this is so.

Then again, this may be more of a typical Japanese ending to a series. I've been told that it may be a cultural aspect of the Japanese to end a series or a story with some questions unanswered in order to stimulate the readers' imaginations.
So... who knows? This may be considered a great ending to the Japanese and only our cultural differences leave us with a feeling of incompleteness. With that thought, I have to withdraw my complaint about the ending, since I'm trying to see this from another point of view. And I must admit that I can see some advantages to leaving certain things to the reader's imagination. After all, the imagination is an extremely powerful tool when stimulated. Just look at all of the possibilities that different people came up with about how this series was going to end when we first heard about it. I really enjoyed reading all of the different theories and now, I would love to see what kind of logical explanations people can come up with for the unanswered questions left from the end of this series.
While I appreciate your cultural consideration, this is not cultural. I am Japanese, who grew up there. I'm with silverado that this manga was forced to end prematurely by the publisher, which happens a lot in the Japanese manga industry. They base their decision largely on frequent surveyes that they insert in each volume. But, usually, the results don't reflect qualities of mangas, which is sad. With that said, this also usually means that they've got new manga that they think will make them money, so let's hope that we are getting something good.

That was a disappointing ending. I guess the series was indirectly cancelled by being forced to wrap the series up even if it meant to create lose ends. I have to admit that I was surprised when the kids were stucked in the future. It probably means that the world was ending because of some ridiculous world disease, some kind of virus that kills off all current species and mankind and the whole island was built on the hypothesis that the kids will restart civilization by arriving on the island in the next 100 years. In order to improve the odds for a safe landing, they built the island on a huge scale and repopulated the island with extinct species which proved to be immune against the raging virus.
This explains why everybody died and why they had the green blob in the base in the first place, as this was a test subject to find a cure against the disease. But some psycho decided to release the virus on the island as well, killing off all personal. So when the kids appear together with the air plane, all of mankind are already dead thus giving the whole series title its actual meaning: Cage of Eden - The garden where everything begins, once again.

What's with all the disappointing manga ends recently... It ended even worse than Lost... and that's saying a lot. Kinda curious about mangaka's new series, hopefully it's worth it.

So, um.
If you liked the action/survival/adventure aspect of Cage of Eden, I suggest you try 7 SEEDS. It portrays the grim reality of various aspects of survival really well, without relying on things like functioning portable electronics. There is also no fanservice, even if there have been scenes of nudity.

Well, the final chapter is out at mangastream and I wasn't really satisfied with the ending.
It just felt too rushed >_>. And we still don't know who hades is (i think?).

I just wanna know why this became ABC's LOST.
Don't tell they've all been in some quasi-limbo/purgatory thing as well...What a mess that was.

If they actually are close to Guam, but still the constellations are wrong, then that means they are at least many thousand of years ahead in time? Yes, it was mentioned in the chapter that the artificial island would require centuries to be finished. And it was all abandoned, which means even more time passed after it's completion.

Am I mistaken, or were there some scenes in this chapter that looked like there was some massive flooding in the city?
Perhaps a possible melting of the ice caps which would destroy most of the major cities of the world since most major population centers are close to sea level anyway.
There is no evidence of those, sadly. It's probably not the same as Shounen Ex (huge tsunami), but might be close. Or it could be that the rest of the world simply ignore the island.

they could have blocked the entire zone to airplanes and ships too.
Maybe, with the whole new Bermuda Triangle thingy. It's still weird that no one discovered them there though.

I believe that it'll just end part one of the series. Part 2 will come later, maybe either they'll stay on the island, or sail to the mainland.

I do though think that Nurarihyon no Mago got epilogue chapters a bit later after the serialization ended. To wrap up things more decently, you know. The last straw of hope, if you will so.
I'm not reading that but I think you mean those 3 chapters that were each around 60-80pages long and released in, I think, 1 month intervals. Like that it would be possible to wrap this up decently.
